Javelin Group events

We hold a number of invitation-only events for senior retailers on specific and relevant retail topics. Our speakers are senior retailers from major retail companies who come and talk to our guests about their experiences in a specific field. The events give our guests the opportunity to meet their peers as well as learn from the experiences of our speakers and each other. The feedback we receive from our guests tells us that they find the events highly valuable.

Here are some examples of events we have held recently.

Efficient buying and merchandising for multi-channel retail

A breakfast seminar hosted by Javelin Group, 1st February 2008

As sales via direct channels grow, making buying and merchandising work well across the different dynamics of stores, web and catalogues is challenging for many retailers. Lead-times differ, product sales potential varies, and allocating limited stocks across channels can result in availability issues. In many cases, the buying and merchandising organisation, incentives and KPIs need significant change to support multiple channels, particularly where B&M teams may currently be in separate buildings, using separate systems and have different cultures.

Tim Curtis, Managing Director, Lands End UK
